How my journey began + where i’m going

I grew up and live in Saskatchewan on the Canadian prairies. I am a single mama to two beautiful and smart young girls, who both play a huge role in what I do today.
Growing up, I was always one of the biggest kids in my class or friend groups. Body positivity was not as loud as it is now, therefore, my body type really played into the quality of life I had as a child. I would often cover myself up with baggy clothes as I either could never find clothes that flattered my body, or I wanted to be invisible. Shopping with friends was never as fun for me as it was for them. I often was limited to the accessories section as a lot of the items in the stores we shopped at were just too small.
Through out my later high school years and early adulthood, my self-confidence began to bloom and my world started changing. I no longer felt pressured to look a certain way, I started to feel more comfortable in my own skin.

My overall goal is to help women feel confident and powerful in their bodies at any size. I also want to bring awareness to inadequacies in the plus size markets in terms of fashion availability and inclusivity.

Having Cierra as a big sister and watching her grow into this beautiful, confident woman has helped me so much with my own body confidence journey. Thanks to my sister I feel that I am more confident in my own skin now than I ever have been. Ever since a young age I would do almost anything to lose weight. For me, being fat was just embarrasing. I felt I couldn’t wear what I wanted to wear and I felt that people were often judging me. I did not feel confident at all in my own skin, but Cierra helped change that. Seeing her be so confident with herself and loving her own body has made me realize that maybe my body is okay too.
